Converting to 12V and going to electronic ignition.

Q1: Assume alternator is internally voltage regulated, therefore do I bypass the original "cutout"??

Q2: With electronic ignition which resistor(s) should I use? (original infamous ballast, new one supplied with conversion kit, or both)

Q3: Trying to find a wiring diagram for my situation.

Thanks in advance. I am very happy that I found this forum many years ago.

f your alt assumption is correct, then dump the cut out. Even if externally regulated, you would still dump the cut out, but replace it with external VR.
What coil do you have? This will determine ballast. 0.5 to 1 Ohm primary or 2.5 Ohm primary?

(quoted from post at 16:35:16 05/15/15) Coil is the round coil that came with the electronic ignition.
ounds like you bought the XT (external coil) kit. Follow Pertronix instructions & if not clear to you call their customer service folks unless you want to void warranty. All that I have seen call for a minimum of 3 Ohms in coil primary circuit, whether that be all in the coil primary or the sum of resistor plus coil primary.
