Hey ain't no big deal. Don't pay to get mad.

Ok thought you were a napa stock holder and I stepped on your toes> I am all
for America Made Stuff. We lost a big portion of material goods last year and
I have spent hrs and days on the computer buying Made in America products to
replace our mostly Made in America losses. I was able to get over 75% made in
America products. Believe it or not alot of it was cheaper then the china or
india stuff. Just today I got shipped right to my door 60 piece Made in the
USA Industrial twist drill set 1-60 in metal index $65.00 - free shipping.
From all places Triumph Twist Drill Chisholm Minnesota--you might know right
where they are at. Our entire fleet is all Made in America and 3 good runnin
Ns among it. I am glad to see napa have Made in the USA stuff------its a start
but they have a lot more huddles to jump, if you go online they are also high
priced over their competitors. Well enough of me beating a dead horse.

The prices listed online is their suggested retail. If you order online they nail you. I pay a good deal less than what's online. Good example is a wheel bearing assembly I got for the wife's car. List online is 220. I paid 185 for the high end one. but I average 300 or so a month with my NAPA. Like I said we have a good "mom and pop" owned NAPA here. And it beats driving 25 miles every time I need something. I run a tab and pay up the 1st of the month. So I'm in and out quick. Plus I have the owners personal cell number. I need something at 10PM on Saturday night and they will come in and get it for me if it's an in stock item. Was kinda funny but I needed a marine starter switch that they carry in stock for a guys boat I was working on last week. I waited till Monday to get it and made a comment about needing it Sunday afternoon. The owner chewed me out for not calling. Wasn't that important to disturb them on a weekend. Guy didn't need his boat that bad.

Now I do know that if you are not a regular customer you pay the higher prices. And the owner or his wife either one will tell you get out if you want to play the fool or act like a jerk. As a bonus the wife likes to bake and makes excellent baked goods that she brings in and sets out on the counter.

I'll have to check on those drill bits. I have a good set now but bits get broke sometimes.

Glad ya got that kind of buy and service its a big +. I have got a quick
example of one of my transactions. Well below 0 and the wind blowing pretty
stiff I broke a throttle cable on a back 2 lane in ND. Sunday afternoon got a
wrecker he dropped my truck at the only shop in the next town and me to the
motel. Next AM called the shop they called their napa said they could
overnight the cable and the next day I am fixed up by noon and headed down the
road fat and happy. 150 mi down the road and my new napa cable made in china
looses its swedge, in a snow storm,Im dead in the water. I always carry tools
and clamped the cable in place with my made in America Craftsman V-grips and
down the road home 400 miles no problem. Got home called napa my---problem
child, yep we'll get ya a new one it was covered with the parts replacement
plan "18" days later they call and say its in. I had replaced it with a
salvage yard one and told them I had loss interest in theirs about 15 days ago
cause I knew how dependable they were. Maybe it me.

Like a lot of auto parts stores NAPA generally offers some items that leave a lot to be desired. Sometimes they offer more than one option on a part from cheap to expensive. Like the bearing for my wife's care. The good one is expensive while the cheap one isn't nearly as high but generally don't last long. Can't blame NAPA for that. They have customers who can't or won't buy a more expensive item.

Funny it took them that long. I just ordered a couple of tire irons today. Should be here 8 AM tomorrow.

Rick

I borrowed some tire irons once did 2 fronts on a N. Since then I go to the
tire shop at my age easy gets harder everyday. Hows your knee doin?

HeyPopgun,
I have no say in this thread but am really interested in exactly which set you ordered. Been looking for a good set but was holding out from dropping $100+.

Popgun, I got 4 sons who can do the tire ironing for me   . The knee is coming along. Just gotta watch what I'm doing.

Grey: Home Depot carries a set of Milwaukie brand bits for under 100. Good bits.
