NAA hydraulic system gasket failure

I cleaned and installed hydraulic gasket kit for my NAA a couple of weeks ago. Lost hydraulics yesterday; discovered blown gasket.

I'm ready to install new gasket, but wonder "why" it failed??? I hate to repeat a problem...

Can you guys shed some light about what can can cause failure with this gasket?

Wonder if I did something wrong...

Thanks

as either mating metal part been replaced recently? Clean surfaces, flat surfaces, free of nicks/burrs, clamping forces correct (bolt torques). A more remote possibility is excess pressure due to a bad/stuck pump overpressure relief valve. Could re-assemble & measure to see that pressure remains under 2050 PSI.

Thanks for the input!

Good surfaces...double checked that...

Not sure about the pressure relief valve though...I'll do some research and clean-it.

Do you know torques for the lift cover...I just "guessed" at it....

on't know torques. The pump pressure relief is in belly of hyd cavity, not the ram cyl relief in the assy with control valve & ram.

I can tell you exactly why that gasket blew.

the two small round gaskets on the other two bolts were too thin.

Cocked the housing and opened up that edge of the gasket.

They must be of the same material as the pressure gasket.

And also use no gasket glue of any kind.

Looks like I can see something around the edges of the gasket????? Glue allows the gasket to slip.
