Snow plow for Wagner FEL - revisited!

Hey-oh. Haven't posted all winter...the 8N and my three-point plow kept the farm clean through the hardest Michigan winter we've had in a long time. No issues all winter - I must have done something right when going through it. The new Canadian-style tire chains sure were worth the $$, too.

So my aunt and uncle are moving from their 40-acre woods and I was remarking the other day about how I wanted to find a plow that I could fab mounts up for the Wagner FEL on my 8N. Turns out they jettisoned a massive Deere three-point plow back in the woods about 10 years ago.

After finding it, turns out that the three-point part was completely mangled but the blade was good. Lugged my cutting torch back and took out the pins holding the blade. Dragged it out...now have to sit and stare at it a bit to figure out the best way to mount it. The good part is that I have a whole summer to play with it.

I kinda like the idea of cutting it and re-welding/bracing to make a V-plow out of it.

What say ye?

How wide is it? Might have to find two and weld them together
in a V to cover the tires. Then have to figure out how to cover
the V in the front, but I'm sure that wouldn't be too tough to do.
Let us know what you decide.

Would very much enjoy seeing pics when your done on the progression.
I have a Dearborn FEL and thinking of a straight plow for winter in place of bucket.

10 ft might be wide enough if you set your tires in fairly
narrow and didn't cut the V in too tight of an angle.
It only needs to cover the width of the tires I would think.
Much more and you might not be able to push it anyway.
Especially on ice! :)
