I painted the script last night. Forgot the good paint brushes at home so I used my daughters cheap Crayola paintbrush. Practiced once on a different hood and it went good. Sat down with this hood and Was instantly nervous. Though it turned out good! Probably took me 20 minutes per side. Mark made a new wiring harness copied from the original that was on it from the factory. Fit perfect. Even managed to get all the wires down the tube. Got the new steering wheel on and the radiator is now on. It had this probably original (first thermostat it ever had) in the hose. Replaced it and will see one day if its still good. Got the new steering wheel on. Its the first one we've ever replaced man are they nice. All that's left is to fix the valve on the sediment bowl and put the gas tank back on, fill with coolant, add hydro fluid, and put the hood on and should be ready to fire up. Will take some pics of it out in the sunlight when we're done. I opted for black lift arms on the back, I like the little bit of contrast. This tractor didn't come with them so they needed painted anyhow.

Looks great Lisa, really nice job on that script!
We like the little bit of contrast too, that's why I leave the
starter etc black. Not original, but it's what we like. :)

Looks wonderful! I got a question: I am painting and attempting to restore a combine powered by a 8N motor. I'm using Van Sickle tractor and implement industrial enamel. It's good stuff, and so far i like the looks, 8N red :) Is that going to be ok to use on the motor? or should i find something else. Also, I'm going to have to replace the exhaust pipe, and (for contrast) i wanted to paint the manifolds and pipe black. I'm thinking i need a high temp paint for that? Thanks.

Very Nice! Hope you hang on to it. I know how much it hurts to part with a tractor after putting all the work and time into it. We like to keep them all but sometimes its necessary to part with one to generate the resources to do another one. I guess we could just stop and enjoy the ones we have----but what fun would that be.

Du, the Ford red is fine for the engine. Manifold and
exhaust will require high heat paint as you suspected.
