Hydraulic leak over winter

As long as I am already asking for help I have another question. A couple years ago I dug into the hydraulic system on this 49' 8N and had it working like a champ. It would hold a load up for days. When I got it out a month or so ago, you can almost watch the the cargo carrier leak down when the engine is shut off. What am I looking at to fix it if it was fine when I put it up for the winter but leaks now 4-5 months later. Obviously I'm hoping for an easier fix and hoping it may be something simple this time around.
Thanks.

First thing you do is find the leak!

Pull side panel, watch it drop a load, see if cyl mouth leaks, or cyl to cover, or cover to center.. etc. Could be lower cover to center, and relief as well.

10-4 Soundguy,
I need to wait till I get the new starter drive to fire it up again. Can a safety relief valve go bad in 2 years? I had ordered the starter drive but I think I better hold off on it till I get an idea on this hydraulic problem if possible (try to save another $11 shipping charge.) I think I can return it if I don't use it so maybe I should just order one just in case. Do you agree? It doesn't sound like I can do much until I get it running again.

As any mechanical device can, yes, a relief valve can leak or die.. but you can test for that with a piece of clear hose slipped over it to see if it isexhausting oil

As for needing a starter to check for hyd leaks , it helps but not 100% needed.

Put lift handle up, disengage pPTO, spin shaft, arms will come up. Pipe wrench the shaft and you can lift a load... with in spec cover off loo, king for /Lea,s. Slow, but both good exercise and common leaks will be easy to I'd.. like cyl mouth, etc.

Thank you Sounduy, I appreciate you help.
My timing really sucks on this breakdown so I need to get it running and finish my current project then dig into the hydraulics in a couple of weeks. I will order the extra valve and tackle the hydraulics shortly.
