8n live power

(quoted from post at 19:02:26 04/22/15) Is there any way to check the live power unit on a jubilee without the eng running? Thanks

No - the live PTO option on the NAA uses hydraulic pressure from the pump to actuate the clutches.

The subject line of your post says 8N live power. Then you ask about the "live power unit" on a jubilee. Those are different tractors. So tell us first what tractor you're talking about and then please tell us what a "live power unit" is.

Since the naa live PTO pump is a small one on the nose, I wonder if he could rig a drive with a drill, the see if he can get the clutches to release
or lock up, thus letting him spin or not spin the PTO?

As another thought.. wonder when he says live power if he might mean hyds?

sound guy This tractor has an extra lever next to the pto lever. It also has a hyd line from the back of the pump on the right side of the tractor it crosses over the trans housing and goes into the plate that has both the pto lever and the lever for the live power. The preveious owner said that it worked and that it gave the tractor live power.I was just trying to see if there was a way to test it to see if it worked. The tractor dosent run. Thanks to everyone. Hopefully this explains things better. Thanks

Generically, live power can mean live PTO or live hyds , naa has live Hyde

With the optional equipment you are seeing it has live'pto.

You will have to get hyd pressure going before you would be able to test anytng. The engine hyd pump nose has a small added on hyd pump for this purpose.

Thank you for the help. The hyd. comes off of the pump on the right side of the eng. It also has a line running to a small valve on the right of the seat on top of the trans or rearend of the tractor that has a knob that you pull to the front or push straight back. Someone on here said that it is a extra hyd. like for a hyd lift wheel plow I think.

You may be confusing a hyd remote or diverter valve with other things.

Post a pic of the PTO shifter area, the right front area under the seat, and the right side engine mounted pump

Lucky you having that valve for switching hydraulics from front to rear attachments AND you have the very rare Live PTO as well.
I also have the Live PTO option but it is not all hooked up as yours appears to be.

Watch this video and there might be something there you need to know.

Thanks I just watched the video. The switching valve from 3point to loader is what is on the tractor and also the live power lever is the same. Now I have a better understanding of there function. Thanks for all of the help.
