I changed the oil in my 8N after it sat all winter. I used a synthetic blend the oil pressure never cam up. I pulled the pan and can't seam to find a problem. What happened?

Did you try priming the oil pump? There's a big nut/plug on the
front of the block you can pull and put oil down to prime it.
If it's a front mount distributor the plug is right by the distributor.
Don't loose the spring and plunger that are under it!
There are quite a few how-to's in the archives here on YT that
talk about priming that pump. Not uncommon and probably not
hurt at all as long as you didn't run it very long.

I did run it long enough to tighten it up but it moves with a bar. Hopefully I can losses it up enough. I will look for the port thank you. Wish me luck. The pan should be fun to back on too.

se a a queeze bottle with small hose & try to get a cup or more in there & don't be afraid to make a mess or you won't get enough in there to do any good.

After JMOR coached me on how to prime, I used a simple pump to prime my N. The hose fitting fit perfectly and didn't spill - it was too easy. Good luck.

Great photos thank you. Back in my car repair days we would pack new or rebuilt pumps with petroleum jelly. Do I need to do that? I can't find a R&R

I have an old 8N that is really tired . It will lose the oil prime if it sets for a day or two . I installed an air valve in the 1/8 npt drain plug on the oil filter canister . Before I start I usually need to add a quart of oil , it's tired . I check the fluids and tires .
I hit the air valve and blow oil backwards which seem to work on this tractor to prime the pump . Before the motor would rattle for ten seconds before the pressure came up . Now it does not rattle and the pressure comes up once started .

I was going to install a shut off valve inline going to the governor to keep oil from blowing that direction and make sure I have enough volume to prime the pump . Seems to be working with out the valve . I have done this 5 or 6 times so far on one motor so I don't know how well it actually works and it is blowing dirty oil into the system which is not a problem on this motor .
