9N value sanity check

Pretty simple. I have a 41 9N in very good running condition. Sheetmetal has some dings, no rust. I also have a Ferguson trip bucket (Hyd up/down). Tires good.

What do you think trade in or sell prices would be?

I'm in SW Wisconsin.

I hope trade in would be about $1500 and sell maybe $2K......

Is that reasonable?

Thinking about a 4x4 tractor like a Kubota.

Prices aren't that high in my neck of the woods maybe someone in your area will chime in. Good luck with your sale.

Sounds about right for an outright sale.
Good tires wont make it worth more but will make it sell faster.
Sounds high for trade in. Dealer has to make something.
Just guessing here but I'd say $1K tops.
Kubota?
I'd say if you can swing it go for it.
And don't look back.

i would start at $2500 and you would very likely get your $2k. i check cracklist ads evry now and again and don't see something like that very often. i'm within a couple hundred miles of you; guess market should be fairly similar. do some searches and see what the competition is.

with like new tires and a strong engine, your $2k is possible here.
Might take a while to find the right buyer.
Dealer....not a chance for a 1500 trade-in...at least the dealers I know.

If you have small implement/tractor/garden dealer near you,
sometimes a few $ to them to put it on their lot will speed things up.
You get more lookers that are actually buying stuff, and the dealer gets more foot traffic.
(not a big new tractor dealer....yours will look terrible by comparison there and you'd just be helping sell new tractors.)

Can't go wrong with a Kubota. Good tough machines.

Guys are on point here.....one thought....dealers have room to work....the mark-up is built in....they can give more on a trade if someone baulks on the trade value...all a big game....always negotiate your best price BEFORE you enter in the trade value....you will see right away that selling your trade out right is usually the best option....Cheers!

I wouldn't expect much on a trade in. If you want the maximum from it I'd suggest an outright sale, trying to get about $2,000 for it, advertise a bit higher. I saw a really nice 8N sell at auction last weekend with a later Sherman "jungle gym" loader with hyd. bucket and a snow blade for the loader, front mount pump plumbed to the 3pt, giving it "live" hyd., 12V conversion and a Sherman hi/low, for $2,500. Had decent tires and a good paint job. That was the high selling 9N/8N/2N of the day.

Go for the Kubota and keep the 9N, even if you take the loader off of it and sell that. You might wish you had it someday as a back up. Did you consider some other brands that might be available in your area (like New Holland, Mahindra, Kioti, Massey Ferg, etc.)? Sometimes you can get just as good or better for a better price.

I'm in SE WI. I paid $2,800 for a 2N with a backblade and a loader (hydraulic up and bucket tilt) twenty years ago. A few years later, I paid $2,000 for a 2N with no implements. Since then I've not been shopping for a tractor, but the ones I've seen for sale have gone down in price by at least $500.
