Power steering

I was poking around the inner web looking at various posts from years past. Noticed a guy named Charlie Mcmullen, from CO posted some pics of his homemade power steering set up. Looked like he spent a couple hundred bucks on the system and he said it worked quite well.

Anyone have anymore info on this or know if he is still active on this site?

Thanks,

Jeff........unless you have some serious mechanical abilities; cost-wise, byte the bullet and buy a later 3-cyl Ford tractor that already has power steering. Yeah, I know, red-belly 8N's are cute, but you can trade yer 8N fer pretty good change .......the AMAZED Dell

No issues here Dell. I was looking at another sites homemade tools and implements pages and came across this. I knew some others were looking for ideas recently.

My tractors seem to steer fairly easy. I don't know if that's because I am a large guy, or some other reason. But I am always looking for things to tinker with as well.

Power steering related: Jackson Power Steering It sounds like they will provide parts and whole systems. FWIW

Kinda like going into a place so dimly lit you can't read the menu--I don't need to be
there...............

I thought someone posted a while ago about the Jackson system being $1400. There are aftermarket options, but they are all priced similar. Not really worth it.

I posted this guys photos because it was homemade and he refers to all the parts costing a couple hundred dollars. Thought that might be affordable to someone.

I also wondered how his system worked, could not see where all the hoses were going. To me it looked like it was probably power steering assist, rather than a true power steering system.
