Any experience with box blades?

I'm thinking about purchasing a box blade. The purpose for it would be to grade my driveway once in awhile
And also grade the lot at our church a couple times a year.
My question is what size to buy . I would like to know if the 6 ft. might be too heavy for my 9N.
The 5' is just a few inches narrower than my rear tires.
Thank you for any suggestions

They are pretty heavy. Make sure your lift is up to it first. I have a 6' and it is a heavy duty model (Lowery brand), I'm guessing about 450-500 lbs, but the lift will pick it up good. Make sure you get one that will cover the width of the rear tires or you may not be happy with the results.

I have a 6' heavy duty model that I use with my 860. Weighs about 350 lbs.

Box blades do not work well with tractors without position control such as your 9N.

Can you bring tires in to have 5' cover?
As another said position control works best.
Check out Zane Thang. I got it and love it

I use a 641 with a Servis brand 5.5 footer with a hinged back blade that weighs just slightly over 600 pounds. The heavier you can handle the better it will work.

this is a picture of the one I bought,

Altas brand, 6 ft. has adjustable depth diggers, with locking pins, so you will not loose them.

so far, I have not been able to tear it up, I think it is a reasonable well built tool

you will like the 6ft model for your tractor.
