8N lift genius!!!!

Working today on an 8N that has a leak down. Pulled the top off and as I always do took a look at the cam follower pin to see how much wear was onit
before doing any adjustment. To my pleasant surprise somebody back down the road in time has solved the problem of worn cam follower pins.
I would post a picture if I knew how. Instead of a dry pin rubbing the cam there has been a roller with sides on it fabricated and rolls on the cam
follwer pin so there is no wear.
I'm thinking about getting my machinest friend who has CNC machines to make me up about a dozen of them to send out with my lift adjusting kits. No
more worn out cam pins!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a video, can somebody tell me how to post from my Iphone???

If you are that cute young one on FB with all the pretty girls hanging around, I'm coming up to AL to have you work on my tractor.... ;)

is it the pin with a roller, or did they somehow modify the cam surface?

I can find about 10 zane shermans on facebook, but I don't think you are one of the girls.. so..

Yea, I found you as well and no video. Do we need to be 'Friends" to see it?? Don't know if you want friend request from everyone on this board!!

I don't have an iphone but when someone sends a pic to my flip-phone I forward it to my email address so I can see it on my computer screen. I then save it to my "desktop" to view/use later. (You could save it to any file) From your Facebook page it gives you a photo/video option to post something on your page.
Probably not near as complicated as it sounds & there may even be easier ways.

Zane do you have an account like dropbox.com. You can place a picture or a video out there and post the link back to the video here so everyone can see it.
If not I can help you out and post it out there and place the link here. Your call.

My email is [email protected]

The pin I replaced in my '51 8N was half worn through. The pin in the '52 that I'm working on was completely worn through. Wondering about the cam itself, should that be built back up with brazing or weld and then ground smooth or just grind it smooth and hope the adjustment will compensate for the difference?

Zane after designing the jig I am surprised you hadn't thought of this long ago!
Looks like an easy fix over replacing the pin.

(quoted from post at 06:01:51 04/10/15) I've got to get some of these built!

Seeing my machinest today.

Zane, the idea sure does sound great. I watched the movie clip but for someone that has never been in there before, it was a little hare to tell what I was looking at. Perhaps if you had backed off with the camera a bit at the end, it might have given a better perspective of what I was looking at. For me it was just a little to close.

Cary at Zanes defense, the video clip shows as rotated 90 degree to the right. Watch it while twisting your head to the right.

Speaking of your 8N jig, I emailed you a couple of days ago about purchasing one from you. Are you still using [email protected]? I was hoping to make a paypal payment.

Thanks
