Good deal......bad deal......talk to me!!

I have an Amrox Model 20DG and it looks to be identical to that one. I have also seen and touched the HF 20T press and there is no comparison. I think I paid just under $300 for my press when I bought it new and I haven't regretted a penny of it but that one is badly damaged and I wouldn't touch it at any price. As a middle ground alternative you might consider this one.....

I have purchased several items including my 2 post lift from them and the service and equipment has been excellent. They will also ship to freight terminal near you and you can go pick it up with your truck/trailer - saves on the shipping cost.

Here is a link to one source for that Amrox press - new price is $513 and you may be able to do better. Notice the shipping weight is 265# - compare that to the HF or Greg Smith press.

You might also give HGR a call and make an offer on this one. It is in fact a Model 20DG - 4920A is the model number of the jack not the press. They WILL negotiate their prices and often accept pennies on the dollar. You might point out they are only asking 2X the new price ;-)

HF now has an upgrade to that orange one. It is red, has better legs/members, similar to the 2 above

I like a press that uses the columns to support the jack mount (even tho mine does not have it) and not a couple pipes like the one you are looking at...

The pipe deal is safe as long as you keep your work short... You should keep your work short as possible any way...

Many years ago I was pressing on a car axle about 30" long and had the bottom almost all the way down like in the ebay link... I was at the point it was all the jack would do so stopped I was standing to the side of the press saying to myself Hope that axle don't fly out then BAM that axle came out like a rocket and bent those pipes... Lucky it went to the wall behind the press I have keep my work short from then on...

I had one similar to the red one your looking at with the two tubes supporting the push plate. Managed to bend it out of alignment trying to press the retainer off of a ford pickup axle. I have since modified it with angle iron and nuts and bolts. The end results is a setup for the push plate similar to the HF style.
