Replaced governor-problems

I replaced my governor today and it went smoothly. The symptoms before were it was leaking badly and no idle in the first third of the quadrant. Now it idles a little fast but if I open throttle lever up only a couple of notches it seems to be racing away, much too fast. I read the FO-4 manual but it doesn't deal with this type problem.

did you just install it and hookup linkage or adjust linkage?

try this. unhook linkage to carb butterfly and see what she does when you set throttle, and then manually manipulate butterfly.

You adjust the linkage by bending it. Make sure there is no preload on the main gov spring.

I just bent the one coming down from the throttle linkage to the governor. I'll try it tomorrow.
