Anybody know where I can get one of these?

The top of this cylinder threads into the bottom. The threads seem to be worn and underload it "popped" loose.

I cleaned up the threads and tightened it down with a pipe wrench but I'm not sure how long it will last.

I will have to track down a used one. I can't find cylinders with this trunion mount.

This is on an old Superior loader.

An option might be to enlarge the hole and tap new threads for the next size fitting, you can get those 90 degree fittings in different sizes on both ends, so you could use the same hose, but have a larger opening where it screws into the cylinder.

My first guess would be to find a GOOD hydraulic cylinder repair shop or maybe a machinist and they might be able to fix that, I am nearly certain you will not find a replacement part.

You are looking at some custom machine work there. I made a couple replacement nuts for a customer with a similar Dearborn cylinder a couple of years ago when one of his cracked. But if the "threads are worn" on your's to the point it "popped apart" under pressure there is a good chance the threads on the cylinder have issues as well as the gland nut.

TOH

PS> After re-reading your post it's not clear to me where it is coming apart. Is it the tube to nut threads, the nut to trunnion threads, or somewhere else?

It popped apart where the tube screws into the trunion. Where the arrow is in the picture. I have rebuilt both of these cylinders a couple of years ago with seals and packing. The gland nut is fine and it doesn't leak.

As I said, I used a pipe wrench to go over the 2+inch of tube and tighten it into the lower part. It seems to be holding but the threads are clearly worn near the bottom of the tube. (where the cylinder travels)

I think I will make a trip to a bone yard and see if I can find something. All I need is the tube. The threads in the trunion are fine.

I've seen bulldozers that use the odd trunion cyl setup, also some on road graders. our case 580 L ruber tire backhoe out in the yard uses something similar. I just snapped a pic.
