Local small engine shop that also does tractor carbs showed me his new toy today...

http://tinytach.com/ultrasonic.php

He said they offered 3 sizes he got the big'N model DSA200-SKI-9.0l... He is very happy with it said you could eat off the carb after it cleaned it... He said he has not done a cast/steel carb in it yet I was welcome to run mine in it ...

BTW he said it would un-stick stuck jets/seats/screws...

MAN....if that thing does what it claims to do, just think of the manhours saved on cleaning carbs by hand!! Not to mention getting ALL the crud out of the passages!!!
Would also solve the 'hunt', for a carb cleaner that works!!!

Gary  [/i:57a8c58b66][/b:57a8c58b66]

Thanks Hobo, that sure looks promising! If you have him do
yours, can you post some pics so we can see how well it cleans?
Any idea how long it takes to work that kind of magic?
I'd love to cut down on the manual work/time.
Really appreciate the thought and the link! :)

I don't have one I want to clean at this time unless I re-clean some parts are take down a core... He said it was fast 15/30 min... He has a nice commercial blaster and does a quick clean then drop it in the new cleaner... He said he paid $600 for the big'N,,,, now this guy don't just buy tools like I do because I want to die with the most,,,but he's a tractor nut and will splurge to support his habit...

Uh-oh, I may be in trouble. I resemble that remark! LOL
Any idea where he bought it? I didn't find that model when I Googled for it.
Not sure the one at DTI would have a big enough basket.

I wrote the model number down

DSA200-SHI-9-0L

I will get back with the other requested info... I will guess the cleaning tub is close to 12X12x8to 10" deep... I did smell the recommended cleaner it had no odor

Places that do tractor carbs get close to $300 so you would have to bump your tip charge up a little to recover your investment... I like big tippers but don't like carbs ... I pray to the fuel injection electronic ignition gods ever nite (reminds me The Vikings come on tonite) I am addicted...

We have a few different sized ultrasonic cleaners at work.
Makes me wonder if I could borrow one lol

Royse,

Check this top ad for something skookum.

That whole area has a very large native population of many tribes.

We had a nice heated ultrasonic at a motorcycle shop I worked at. There are different solutions/additives used depending on what you're working with (rusted versus crudded).

The thing that got me is they were all water based so you'd pull the carb out after the soak and then rinse everything off with warm water. Worked great though.

Talked to the head wrench in my buds shop he said he cleaned a MS carb in the cleaner and was not impressed... His eye light up when he tells me how well it does on aluminum and brass... Soft metals come out look'N like new...

He said rust and paint were not removed form the MS carb...

Thanks Hobo, always good to have all the info!
I wonder though if that could be improved with heat/soap
changes. Maybe just an adjustment could improve results?
It's an expensive gamble if a guy were buying one, but now
that he has it I would think it would be worth a try.
