Thanks to the archives and all the tips long ago, I found I had a simple weak condenser on this 51 side mount. I changed points and condenser and she moves like a champ. It would go the same distance each time and start breaking down. It was a beast to get the carb just right. I thought I had a fuel blockage. Or a coil trying to go or maybe a bad carb. I went with the cheapest of the fixes once I noticed that the spark was a pale white/yellow. Now it's bright white slight bluish white even. I'm sooooooo happy right now. And you guys know what I mean. Anyway, thanks to all who went before and left tips on this site. Everyone should start in the archives. Your problem has likely already been addressed here.

One other thing spark has to be able to do to be good in jump a 1/4 inch gap or more

Yeah your right. Use that trick on my bass boat too When trouble shooting. I just keep one decent plug from a change out.
