had to start a new thread because im missing comments/replies

so we have narrowed my issue down to fuel. i found some water in my 2.5 gal gas i added last week so i drained all the fuel out,
added dry gas/isopropyl and a half gal or so of fresh fuel. drained that. then again added fresh fuel, dry gas. still only starts
w brake kleen in the inlet. seems i need to pull choke out as soon as she starts and that buys a few seconds more run time.
doesnt matter w throttle up, mid and down, all seems to act the same.

what do i do now? is it maybe not a quality of fuel issue and more the delivery of fuel?

You say...."is it maybe not a quality of fuel issue and more the delivery of fuel?"

That is what I think is going on!!!!
One thing ya did...getting rid of the water contamination in the fuel tank and carb, BUT, fuel/air mix to the engine, has got to be right, and at the right time for the engine to run!!!
Fuel in/through the carb won't get it, by itself!!!

Just emailed ya via YT safe mail....call me, or email me as soon as you receive the email!!! I'll try to help ya!!!

yes i definitely got all water out of the carb, sediment bowl.

thank you gb, i will reply in a moment.

i believe everything is good up to the carb, but then the problems begin

Pull the carb drain plug. Turn on the gas and let it flow for a few minutes. Catch the gas so as to look for water/dirt/rust. You need a good steady flow of gas for at least 3 minutes or you have a flow problem. Also make sure you have a good blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. Weak spark can act like a fuel problem

If the tank isn't bone dry, you still have water in there.

Remove the fuel line from the carb. Turn the gas on at the sediment bowl w/ ONLY 2 full turns. Let it run until it stops. Now, turn the fuel on all the way. If it starts to drain again, let it run. But, chances are when you turn the fuel on all the way nothing will come out because the reserve inlet is clogged. So, to get that last gallon (and the water ) out, you will need to remove the sediment bowl from the tank. Be careful, because when you do, that gallon of gas will come out all over everything unless you have a pan under it to catch it.
