The rear end is up on blocks, still attached to the rest of the tractor. I took the left axle housing off and the ring gear out. The bearings and cones on both sides were pitted, so I replaced them.
Then I left axle housing on and tightened all the nuts and admired by work. Then I noticed no brakes or clutch pedals.
After I put all the parts on and tightened all the nuts, again, the rear wheel/rim will not turn. I loosened the nuts and then the wheel turns by hand and the wheel on the other side goes in the opposite direction.
Am I correct in thinking that when tightened the ends of the axle are being mashed together and that a shim or two would fix the problem?
