52 8n temp gauge install.

Just above the dipstick, there is a drain cock in the block is this where I would install a aftermarket temperature gauge? Thanks.
 
Best place for an 8N is to drill out the flat spot on the left front side of the head.
You should be able to find a post below on this. It was just talked about a couple or so days ago.
Here's a link to a store bought one like 714 is talking about.
I've got one on my 2N. Works good. But you still need to drill it out to except a standard sending unit.
Or use one of theirs that just don't look right on these old tractors.

If you drill and tap the head , what's on the inside ? What about the metal chips ? Do you have to remove the head ?

Hobo,I found the water temp gauge install that was saved from Dunks web page.I had it in some old saved files on a thumb drive.
