I tried all most everything to get my 8N to start after 6 months of sitting outside. New points, Condenser ...gap set right. Check for spark...OK,
checks fuel to carb...good flow. Checked fuel screens...Good. Yes...key was on! Amp meter showed alive. Sparkie wires new. SO WHAT ELSE??
Then I read from this forum to check gap on sparkies...good according to F0-4 manual.
Still it would NOT start!!
Then I read 'TIPS': Wash Spark plugs in lacquer thinner...DID THAT AND "Hello!" It started immediately...purrs like a kitten!!
Thanks to all...great forum!!
PS: Quick question: Is there supposed to be a gasket between the front mount distributor and engine? Mine is leaking oil no matter how clean and snug I mount it.???????????????
