New Drag Link Boots - Leather

I ordered a pair of drag link boots Monday night, they got here
today. I was a bit surprised to see they were leather instead of
the normal rubber replacements.

The original rear drag dust covers were made of leather. Back in 2003, Don Barkley at nnalert had Dennis Carpenter make some repops. They were not the best as I had to really hand grind relief on the IDs to get them to pop over the hubs. They eventually fixed that problem but the last set I bought to replace those a few years ago were now made in Cheena and when I started to squirt grease in them, the leather popped out from the steel assembly. nnalert replaced them with no questions asked and they have since fixed that problem too. I did NOT over grease them. While I was waiting for the replacement leather ones, I bought a pair of the cheaper rubber ones and those are the pits. The vinyl covers got cracked and leaked over a few years. I'd stay with the leather ones and as stated -don't overfill. Also, remember they are only dust seals, not grease seals. One or two squirts every now and then is all that's needed.
