8n brake return springs

My newly purchased 1947 8n came with a new set of brake pads and two brake return springs because the last owner ran out of time to install them. My service manual says it needs 3 springs (two on one side, one on the other) The New Holland dealer says I only need the two I have. Can anyone let me know how many I really need? Where I'm located, I have to order the parts, and returning will be difficult. I need the tractor, and don't want to take the wheels off and find out that I need a third spring and be stuck without it for awhile.

You need 3 springs on the left side and 2 on the
right on a 8n ford.

The 3rd spring on left side is # 8N2299
"Brake shoe secondary left side only."

The 3rd spring on the left side is to help lift the brake pedal back up because it is heaver then the right side pedal.

I use 3 sprangs per side I prefer it that way... It makes the pedals stand at attention The more the better...
