NEED ADVISE ON TWO THINGS

Hello;

1. What torque do I need to put on my 1948 Ford 8n Manifold nuts?

Now a different set of hogs.................

2.I spotted a TO35 today, it had 3 forward gears with a high to low lever beside the regular gear shift. Has a bucket on front that is tripped with a lever, said to be working. The Seller said it runs a little then quits (in other words a non runner).Is it worth $1,000.00? What is your take on this with such scanty information? Oh, the metal looks pretty good, One of the front tires is flat. Tires look useable but nothing to brag about. Will parts for the 8n interchange with the TO35? I didn't see a serial number where it should be, so that is unknown at this time.

Thanks for your information on these things :?:

Not running half that. Parts are bit harder to find for that on and cost a bit more.

Thanks Old on the to35 info (I don't have a good feeling about it), How about the torque required for replacing 48 ford 8n manifold nuts?

8nsyes,The TO35 coule be between 1954-1960 TO-35 Deluxe: live PTO with two-stage clutch.The SN tag should be on the left side of dash about a 2x3" tag.If its a TO-35 Deluxe it would have live PTO with two-stage clutch.About 31 HP OHV 6 forward gears and 2 reverse .Not a bad price with a loader.

The Brass manifold nuts should be torqued to 25-28 foot pounds.

I have a 1960 MF 35, very similar to the TO35
and I like the extra power. i'm able to lift
and carry a 4x5 round bale. The problem is if
the TO35 you are viewing is equipted with a
loader, and does not have power steering (which
i;m sure it doesn't), then it will be very hard
to steer with a front load. Mine is a bear with
no loader. Steers great when i'm toting a round
bale in the back lol. You say it runs for a
little bit then quits? Could be an easy thing
like a fuel flow problem or you are loosing
spark when engine gets hot.

Thanks Bob;

I'm about 20 miles from where the tractor is for sale, will try to check it a little closer in a few days. Good advise is always appreciated.
regards,
walt :D
