OT - It'll buff right out

My sister dropped this off along with a junkyard headlight and
hood. She figured I'd have it fixed in a couple of hours so she
could take it to work the next day. It's a '99 Olds Aurora. Both
rear doors would open, but neither front door would.

I literally hooked a chain between the left front fender and the
drawbar on the back of my 8N and yanked the fender forward
enough to allow the driver's door to open. This picture was
taken after that exercise so I could drive it into the garage.
I'm too old for that Dukes of Hazard entry!

Looks like a simple little dent and busted headlight don't it?

OH well......you didn't have anything else better to do....RIGHT!!!??? [/i:46e828b2fc][/b:46e828b2fc]

Not yet Tom, but I have this idea about another chain hook
up to the left and a body saw to make the headlight fit.
Don't need to look pretty. Should be done tomorrow!

Not at all Gary. Just setting around twiddling my thumbs as usual!
That, and wondering why in the ell I haven't gone down South this
winter. I get dumber every year!

jimmyjack, you are probably real close if you were to fix it right.
I don't think it's worth fixing right and she just needs a car with
working doors and headlights.
Less than $400 with junkyard parts is my guess. Providing the
alignment checks out when I'm done. Won't be pretty.
Labor, of course, is free. Just like the heat for my shop is free.
Kind of like when I work on my tractors in the winter. LOL

Local fella hit a dear the other night with a late model Dorf pickup (a SMALL deer, by the accounts of guys that have seen the carnage), was able to drive it home and to the bodyshop, and the repair estimate is $14,000.00!

My cousin hit a pheasant with his pickup. Bent the hood, took out the grill, AC condenser, radiator and fan. He said he would hate to hit a turkey.

Good as it's gonna get. $50 in junkyard parts, (taking the hood back)
a few hooks to the 8N at different angles and all the doors work,
the hood opens and closes correctly, the lights all work.
Left and right headlight are actually even within a half inch at 30 feet.
Like I said, not pretty, but it works. Now to have the alignment checked........

Looks fine to me. Now every body shop is going to want a 8N for straightening frames and pulling panels.
