winter to spring test run

had most of my tractors except the hay mover tucked in tight for the winter. batteries out, etc. tanks empty..

i've been pretty sick since the last week of the year, and while i'm getting over it now, I have had to do lots of catch up work and some out of town work.. In the mean time, the yard has come back to life and weeds are up, and pasture needs to be mowed soon. End of last year my battery hold down broke on my 950 and the wire to the ammeter rubbes when battery moved and caused a smoked insulation issue I finished the season with a jumper wire in place.. literally ran her out of gas on my last mowing, parking her at the shop.

So now i got my rider lawnmower, mowing tractor and weedeater to get going.

tried a test had some berrymans chemtool cleaner left over from my old gasser truck i sold. so i poured some into the lawnmower and weedeater empty tanks and turned fuel on. proceded to charge the battery int he lawnmower while i did the regular stuff, change oil and filters.. etc. weedeater takes plain gas, so i changed it's oil too.

added gas to the weedeater and lawnmower, and was surprised to see them both come to life on first bang. normally comming out of sleep they lumber a bit.

gonna try this as well with the 950. it has always started good, but seems that berrymans is a good precharge for the carb.

will post back results.

I'd say more but am loosing my voice again. :)

I envy you, With about 112" of snow this winter we are still looking at 4' to 8' snow banks on average here. Today is the first day of warm weather we have seen in months. But no sun

had pneumonia for theend of last year and the first few weeks of this year.

got to feeling ok for about a week or so, then got brohchitis real bad. took a couple weeks to get over that.. and again.. felt ok for about 5-7 days, then poof.

made it hard to work and travel. had to cancel one travel related work for a week, as soon as i got back from the next one i was sick again. sucks!

my friend is down there somewhere, been there a month, sends me pictures of there feet set against a background of the ocean, as they set out on the beach.

while I am freezing here in western ky, about to get hit again tonight and tomorrow with a major winter storm for us.

enjoy that nice weather. am going to keep my toys in the barn for a while, have all the batteries charged up and water drained out of my air compressor tank.

I had bronchitis for seven weeks and it did not go away until after I got some drug from the doc along with an inhaler.

I've been on ab twice, on inhaled steroids now, have 3rd round of ab called in waiting to see if I need them. Fell and broke a bone in my hand when I got pneumonia, that's healing by is a pita...

86 here now, just mowed, weedeater about killed my broke hand. Sweaty tshirt and shorts n sunglasses, need an iced tea right now!

Hope all goes well with the 950 Chris.Glad you are feeling better. Been very cold up here the last month. 40 degrees is coming next week. Been under the weather myself a little bit but feeling better. Waiting for spring to get here so I can get some work done on my cottage and get the NAA out and running.

I miss Florida, Father-In-Law used to live down there on the Inter-coastal In Ponte Vedra and then in St. Augustine. Was wonderful to visit, but no open land to play in like here.

Then about 5 years ago he got a brilliant Idea and moved back up here to Southern Illinois not far from us... and Winter...

I do miss the visits down there in the Spring/Summer with the kids...

Bronchitis and pneumonia are not something to play with. Once you get it you will easily get it again. I got severe bronchitis 4 yrs in a row and twice led to pneumonia. Have not gotten it for the last 2 years. Now I wear hats and scarves and jackets like an Eskimo (no offense).

Its one of those sicknesses that you think you feel better but you really are not out of the wood work yet until a certain amount of time has lapsed..

Welcome to my world:

I don't wish pneumonia on anyone. Had bronchitis, turned into pneumonia, collapsed, broke my hand, got bronchitis again.. Lovely!

(quoted from post at 04:34:44 03/05/15) It may be stuck. But that looks like one mean vehicle. What is it?
No idea, WWII pic from the net. Looks like Brits pushing, but I may be mistaken. My road isn't quite that bad yet, but it's worse than I can remember.
Forgot to add on original post: Get well soon SG.
