ford 2000 industrial

I know a person has early ford 2000 industrial wants to sell . He said it went through oil and he parked it hoods of 600$. I saw pics not in person . Been sitting a few years 4 inch trees grown around it.this would be along term project. What do you think. Tires were supposed to be good

It could smoke for a number of reasons. Bad rings or stuck rings. Bad valve guides or maybe even over filled. Or it could have carb problems but for $600 if I had the $$ I would jump on it in a heart beat

They are pretty sweet little tractors.
My pal Ken had one with a diesel in it.
Should have a heavy, non-adjustable front axle for loader work. Most of them had power steering to go with the heavy front axle.
They also had the heavier 801 style rear end.
Pretty stout.
His had the 4 speed with the Sherman combo.
He restored it and then decided he didn't need it so he sold it.
Most parts on it will interchange with the other Hundreds so would not be a problem to find - either new or used.
$600 is about scrap price so it would be easy to part out if you decieded not to make it run.

The owner also said the ford 2000 he would run all his used oil through it was that bad. Ill half to sell the 2n we have been fixing cracked block jb weld fix . I ran it for 1 hour it seems to be holding.

The front axle and steering is pretty desirable on them. You could likely come close to doubling your $ just for that as guys want them for their loader tractors. All of it would be a direct swap on a Jubilee or Hundred/Thousand Series.
Would have to be a complete package - front axle, bolster, radius rods, tie rods, steering column, PS pump, lines and cylinders.

Used oil is likely to be 3/4 of the problem of it burning oil. Used oil tends to be thinned out form being used and can even have some gas in it so that makes it even thinner. Almost bet a oil change with a good oil like say a 20W-50 and the smoking would slow way down

I will go look at it when wheather gets better if i get this tractor and fix it correctly no bubble gum and bandaids. This will be my last tractor ha ha.

You should have NO SURPRISES after hearing the owner talk about his other equipment...

You KNOW, some fellas can wreck a CROWBAR...
