9n ignition switch

how about some opinions about the best source for a new ignition switch for a 9n. As I read this forum,it seems like everybody complains about the poor quality of these switches.Hopefully there is not just one manufacturer making switches for all the people selling parts for our old tractors.

Any dc spst or more capable switch, that can do 5a continuous duty is suitable. If its waterproof and milspec or marine grade, it will likely last longer and cost more.

If you want a good switch that was similar to the original 9N key switch mounted on the right dash, call Derek at nnalert as they sell s decent one with screw terminals. The switch is real close to the original and is built rugged.

Funny this was what I was about to search for. seems I can't find rubber boots for the toggle switches anymore and i've gone through 2 switches this winter already.

how weatherproof is this keyswitch? I'm going to put up some shed this spring. the weather is just too hard on the machinery.

After I replace electrical stuff, I spray all connections with a product called 'Corrosion X' which will help seal water and elements out. It is used in the aviation field a lot. I bought a can over ten years ago and still have it. If you are storing your tractor outdoors, invest in a good tarp, canvas or polyurethane will work and a few bungee cords to keep it covered.

NAPA KS6600 will get'er done...

I tried the Napa KS6600 a while ago on somebody's
recommendation. It is indeed a very sturdy looking switch, but it
won't fit behind the dash.the hole thru the dash is the correct size,
but not enough space on the back side of the dash

If you godda have it behind the dash go with Tim's recommendation... Ignition switch issues are a P.I.T.A. stay away from the junk...
