using a 1.82 ohms ignition coil resistor for 8n 12 volt c...

Hi, everyone. I found a different ignition coil
resistor, that I can use, but I already bought this
one from napa, would this be ok to use for a 12 volt
conversion 1951 8n tractor? the part# is ICR13 it is
a 1.82 ohms. thank you.

1951, so side mount distributor right?
Why not just use a 12V coil and no resistor at all?
Less connections to worry about corroding or coming loose.

As royse said, you will be better off buying a NAPA 12 volt coil IC14SB for $18 than paying $15 for a resistor that may or may not work correctly unless you can accurately measure the internal resistance of your 6v coil.

If you are using the 6 v starter you may want to replace it with a 12v. Especially after you twist off the starter drive. I got my Jubilee starter from YT, $147 shipping included. Not all 12v replacement starter are 12v. They will say can be used on 6 or 12v.
