8N hitch questions

Is this the swinging drawbar hitch? (Not sure; couldn't determine from instruction manual and service manual.)

Should I remove it if I'm not using a drawbar?

Doesn't this hitch cover the differential drain plug? It seems like I am not able to drain all the hydraulic fluid out properly with this hitch in place, but maybe I am crazy. It would not be the first time someone has said that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, its for a specific swinging drawbar

Your call on removing. I leave mine in place.. hurts nothing.

No it does not block any drain plugs.

So is there a hole in the bottom of the hitch for removing the diff plug, Sound? I didn't see such a hole upon a cursory inspection, but it could be full of dirt.

I just went out and took this picture. I had removed my bracket earlier but it looks like the drain plug is forward of where the bracket would be.

Right on the money Del, and a great picture.
It's that square plug just forward of the hitch plate and your
picture with the plate removed shows where it was in relation.

Royce I am always amazed at the combined years of knowledge that I see first hand here. No amount of reading can give a person the info found here.

I couldn't agree more! I learn something new here almost daily.
The geographical differences alone provide a ton of experiences.
Then their are the myriad occupational differences. Doctors,
lawyers, farmers, electricians, computrgeeks, salesmen, etc.
There are probably a few therapists on here too, but they're too
afraid of work overload to speak up! :D

If it's not in your way why not add a a hook it case you ever need it to drag something or to hook up a chain to pull you out of a hole.
They are not worth that much for resale.

Here are two style swinging drawbars used with that bracket. The horseshoe style swinging drawbar.

Here's the later style swinging drawbar used with the 8n NAA. The hundred series swinging drawbar was bent the other way.
