rim centers

Yep, both will interchange with each other. The 'scallop' design was just to avoid any copyright lawsuits from FORD for copying their design.

Yes.
But the scalloped design in conjunction with the looped rims was also a big improvement over the solid centers.
Scallops and loops allowed you to change tire widths without having to remove Both rims and centers. At least not every time.
Looped rims were surely cheaper to build and were not as likely to trap moisture in the top hat part of them and rust out.
I understand folks love their top hats but they were an inferior - more expensive design and no one used them after 1954.

Bingo.

The intellectual property issues between Ford and Ferguson involved patents rather than copyright.

I doubt that there were any patent issues with the rims or wheel centers.

I always found it interesting that the Ferguson TE-20's used a solid center disc like the 8N but with loop rims, whereas over here all the TO tractors got the scalloped centers.

Deano-
yep, meant to say 'patent right infringement' but had a senior moment and copyright popped into my mind. When Ford began Dearborn Motors and the 8N in July 1947, some implements weren't ready for production let alone demonstration. It was said they didn't have a cultivator ready so to avoid patent infringement they took a Ferguson model, painted it vermillion red, and made it 15" wide instead of 14" and thus avoided legal hassles.
