Just finished repair on lift. New cylinder, naa piston etc., adjusted springs and clearances. Still up after 2 hours with Dearborn utility blade on. Problem is a little chatter when lifting. Is that from lift or pump?
Thanks, Foster

Surely the new cylinder was true. I can see that piston wobbling in my mind - the skirt hitting the cylinder bore. I suppose if it was a very tight fit with the leather backup it could just be binding. If that were the case it will stop as it wears in. I put an NAA piston in mine but reused the cylinder and had to hone the devil out of it.

Foster.......unless yer sphincterly challenged, just turn yer hearing aides OFF. Chatter is NOT goin' to effect yer lift much. .......deef Dell, whaacha say?

A good hydraulic system should hold the load up for at least a week or two. The chatter you hear is because the chambers are full of sludge.

Soundguy, thanks. It is a replacement pump but don't know the quality of the rebuild.

Notjustair, all new and tight.

Dell, don't have my head up my arss so can't turn off the hearing aids that way.(or maybe I do)

Tim, cleaned when replaced and used little since.

Lift is still up this morning.

Of course without seeing your pump can't do more than guess, but if it was a rebuild, I have heard reports of ill fitting parts, covers, gaskets, etc
