Funk 6 belts

Getting ready to pull the belts out of my Funk 6 Conversion, the belt to the governor is way too long and slipping- got it fired off (sitting for 15 years) and it runs sweet, has an alternator on it, just need to get the governor straitened out. The other belt is easy as the existing one fits right, just match it up- anybody know the correct length or belt # for the governor belt? I know I can do the rope trick, and have a big box of old belts I use for fitting unknowns, just wondered if anyone knows the right one. Most all the original Funk stuff seems to be there, even got some spares with it- pretty happy when it lit off and purred

Ummm, if the belt is too long, take it to your fave supplier and get a selection of shorter ones. There is NO steadfast rule about this stuff. Who knows who did what 'back in the day'. HTH

Guess you didn't read my post very well- I know the old fitment tricks quite well, and have a big box of oldies for fitment. Someone else who has has a Funk 6 just might know what came on it

The Funk conversion and its governor was an after market set up , so there may be dozens of combinations as there was no single kit . Then if someone has swapped the generator for an alternator it could have changed again since there are large and small genny pulleys .

My Funk does not even have a governor . Some folks modified the stock 8N and other folks used governors made by different manufacturers .

The early Funks used stock steel oil pans and channel rails then they started casting oil pans with the spacer built in . There are also Glover conversions for that time era .

Tell me a little more about your Funk? Flat head or OHV. I have an OHV that has the original belts, but I could not figure out how to get the numbers to convert to modern numbers. My governor is on the left side of tractor (if your sitting on tractor, that left ) I could get you those numbers. I will need new belts as well.

Mine is a flathead, 8N governor with an adapter plate on the right, cast pan, original carb hat, and got some extras, another dash extension and the radius rod extensions etc.
