Dag Nab It!

I went by the machine shop late today and the block still wasn't ready. The main guy had a death in the family and was out a couple of days and others had been sick a couple of days. So he was just getting back to full capacity today. He's got two in front of mine so maybe (if i hold my mouth just right) I can get it back tomorrow evening late. All this for getting a new oil pump and needing a line hone! Dag Nab It!

Best I remember you were gunna have the flywheel resurfaced..

Tip,, the bolts that hold the clutch cover on the flywheel have a shoulder,,, test fit and make sure the shoulder does not bottom out
before the head of the bolt hits the flywheel... Its nuttin a lock washer will not take care of if it does...

I bolt the Clutch assy (cover and disc) up to the flywheel on the table At this time you can check clutch finger height with a level are straight edge... If its a go I wedge a 3/8" nut between each finger and the cover (3) then remove the cover bolts to flywheel... It will help to evenly run the cover bolts up (its not under tension) and make it EZ'er to align the clutch disc... It takes the fight out of it...

Sum'N else I do is lay the clutch disc on the flywheel as it would mount once assy. I push straight down on the edge if it raises the othe side its not flat... I like'em flat :D Its not a deal killer but something to look at if you have issues... BTW you can test the cover side as well...

Engine work is not a plug and play deal every move you make assy it can be checked..

Yikes, I forgot all about the flywheel. I'll try to remember to make sure it is ready to go too! I'll perform the checks you suggested when I get it back. Thanks.
