Ok,

So I bought the expensive wiring harness instructions were great with it. But really? that wiring harness AND spark plug wires are supposed to fit in that little tube on my 48 8N?

If you got all that crap in that tube, please tell me how ya did it.

One at a time. Slowly. With WD40.

IIRC, (and I do have CRAFT) plug wires first. Then, I tied a string to the main harness & pulled it through.

It is possible. I've done several. Just like Bruce
says. I also used WD40 to lubricate the spark plug
wires.

LUBE!LEAVE OLD WIRES IN TUBE AND TIE NEW WIRES TO
THEM,WIGGLE,PULL WIRES TOWARD FRONT OF TRACTOR.I'V
DONE 2 8n and 1 9n.9n is harder because tube is
longer.Seems to work every time.

Years back when we ran co-ax cable in office buildings through aluminum conduit we used dish washing soap when we ran out of cable lube

Sounder........yeah, 7mm vs 8mm. Since I'm NOT a sphincterly challenged originality inspector, I would just NOT use the tube. Just make certain you used COPPER core sparkie wire cut to length. ($20, cheap) When I re-wired the sparkies on my eazy starting 52-8N, I went down to the the local HOT-ROD parts store and got some copper core sparkie wire fer CHEVY-V8 'cuz they had right-angle booties to fit under the gas tank. .......HTH, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister

When I did this recently, I put in the spark plug wires one at a time first. I didn't think the connectors on the end would survive being pulled through as a bundle. When I got all of those in place, I used a fish tape (stiff piece of still wire with a bend on one end would work) to pull through the wiring harness. I used electrical tape to gather up all the loose ends so nothing would snag. I didn't use it, but liquid dish soap would have helped. We used something like that to pull wire bundles through conduit when I used to be an apprentice electrician.

Now, hopefully you won't then realize like I did that you got the spark plug wires in the wrong order. Pulling everything back out with no lubricant was a real chore.

With all the wrestling around that I did with this, I managed to damage the one remaining good bracket on my wire tube so I'm not sure I want to use it again. I need to decide if I want to fix my tube, find a new one or just live with my zip ties.

One at a time. First put the wiring harness through. Then one wire at a time starting with the #4 plug. The last one takes some wiggling and twisting to get it to find its way through.
