Front seal on tranny help

I have the new seal for the front transmisison inside the bellhousing. Got it all cleaned up in there too. I guess I need to remove the two clutch springs (throw out bearing). What all do I have to disconnect to do this? I don't want to take stuff off that doesn't need taken off. I am bad about that...lol. Seems like nothing ever goes together quite like it did before being taken apart. I am picking up the engine block tomorrow (New oil pump so had to do a line hone), so I need to get busy on some of this mission creep stuff.

Remove springs and to beraing, remove four bolts and the imput shaft and housing will come off. inspect bearing and replace seal. Not really much to it. take care installing new seal.

As R Geiger said......and, open side to the oil. There is a gasket in there that needs to be replaced. Smear a little bit of grease on the seal where it rides on the shaft.

Might as well replace the t/o & pilot bearings while you're in there & attempting to find other "mission creep" tasks!

I used these 4 guide bolts to re-install gasket and shaft. Made it a lot easier.

Del........thatza clever trick using removable studs to guide that LONG input shaft onto yer tranny. Replace stud with bolt, one-atta-time, eh?

One of the "BIGGEST" problems with front tranny seal leakin' is OVERFILL of the 5-gals of hydro-tranny oil. 4-1/2 gals is plenty and yer seal won't leak. Ford spec: M2C-134D is recommended. .......oily Dell

Del you just gave me an idea for one I get around to installing my combo sherman. Since i have to remove it once or twice to get the shims right, i'm gonna use the studs and a couple of nuts.

Worked on my buddies last year and getting those first bolts started while holding up the Sherman made it a 3 Aleve night.
