I've seen several posts where TSC's "Ford Gray" was used on
8N's., These posts were a few years old, but all I can find at
TSC is what they call "Light Ford Gray" by Majic.

Is this a rename with a different brand or just a different
shade?

You might be thinking of TISCO, not TSC. TSC used to sell VALSPAR which was OK paint then switched to MAJIC brand which is junk in my opinion. I have used TISCO which is made by Van Sickle in the USA and is pretty good but you need to use a hardener and maybe a UV blocker. After 2/3 years it will fade unless otherwise. For the Ford Vermillion red many, including me, have used the TISCO IH RED as it comes closest to the original than the orangy Ford Red they sell. Their Ford Medium or Light Grey comes close too.

SHERWIN WILLIAMS

I bet that if you removed the air cleaner, like I did, you will probably find an OEM color for your "N".

I took my air cleaner assembly to SHERWIN WILLIAMS and they were able to match the color pretty good. Then I bought their "industrial" enamel to re-do my 9N.

I used ford light grey in a rattle can, the paint appeared ok, but I just used it a month ago.I have never had paint that had so much over spray, it was like dust.

Ford light grey is for the blue and grey tractors 1965 and up. It is not the same as the grey for the red and grey tractors from 1948 to 1964. I think they started the light grey with the 6000 tractor when they changed it from red to blue. And the grey for the 47 down tractors is still darker than that for the red and grey models.

Light Ford Gray

I think Leroy is right.
Here is just plain "Ford Grey" by Valspar.
852 SS Polyurethane (A)

TERRAIN
2013 FORD USA (VA-7290)

The hood and sheet metal were painted before I got the tractor
and so I took the hood to the Valspar dealer. They scanned the paint and their software immediately recognized it as, "Ford Grey".

So I bought a quart with hardener and painted my centers and restored 16 X 28 Hat rims with it. I couldn't be happier with the match or the paint, so far.

That light grey is what was on my 65 & 68 4100 and 68 5100 tractors, and it was lighter than the grey on the NAA that was traded in on the 65 4100 and that is a lot lighter than the orignal grey on the 44 2N bought new in May of 44 that is the only one of these tractors I still have. The orignal grey of 44 is about the same as a battleship grey that was put on a 41 9N that I also have now.
