This is my first N. She'd always been a smoker. I couldn't get her to run for nothing last Spring. Figured she had smoked her last one. Plan to get around to ringing her some day. She burns oil so bad if you fill the tank up you'll have to stop two or three times to add oil and clean the plugs before you empty the tank. I've put all the additives and different weights of oil in her over the years.
Well I went out to turn her over a little to pump some oil around. Darn if she didn't fire up after only a few turns.
Heck of it all is. as bad as she burns oil, oil pressure never gets below 35 pounds. Unless to oil level drops to low. She been a good worker over the years. Never had a Skeeter problem a round here whens she running.

My 1935 JD-B smokes like that but then if it has ever had a rebuild it would have been done back in the late 40 or some time in the 50s. I run 50 or 60W oil in it and only run it in the summer time. But then again it has been part of my family since 1940 which was when my grandfather got it

FD........you do know all that "smoke" is NOT an oil pressure problem, don't you? Ittza RING problem. ......oily Dell
