Carb Drain Valve

This came off Old Smokey. When I first got her I just thought that
was standard equipment. Only after I got other tractors did I realize
it wasn't standard. Obviously it a valve for copper tubing. I'm
wondering if any body else is using one on their tractor. I find it
real handy. Lots better than a plug.

The drain is 1/8 npt so any plug or fitting that size will fit .

They make a small version of the common automotive radiator drain cock which is a straight design .

I like them , I can usually get a few bb sized drops of water out of the carb before starting the motor for the day .

If you have a problem keeping the motor running it is easy to open it up and see if you have a good flow (into a can ) for about 30 seconds . If not you know where to start .

I don't use one on my tractors, but I use one when I test carbs.
It lets me drain the gas out when I'm done testing without
getting it on the new paint.

Seen mote then one with the standard radiator drain plug in them which is handy. My Farmall tractors have a drain plug that works like that but if made different

I was planning to buy some more like this. But if I can find them made like a radiator drain I may buy that kind. But one good thing about this one is you don't have to get gas on your hand. Not that would matter much to me. Gas'll have clean the grease off my hand. Either way, a valve is a lots better than a plug.

Ya the standard radiator type drain plug will screw right in where the normal plug is on a carb. My 1935 JD-B has had one in it since who knows when

Fuddy Duddy ,Most of the old tractors had a quick drain to drain the bowl.Like on TVO-kerosene/gasoline multi fuel tractors that had to start and warm up on gasoline before switching over to kerosene. Also to drain out kerosene for a cold restart if it was not run dry at shutdown. They are also great for draining water out that settles to the bottom of the bowl from condensation. And water that settles out of todays gas.
