Thanks Colin! It will probably get stashed away for awhile till we figure out what we're doing with what tractor.

Lisa, Have you seen that bumper on Fargo CL?
He's had it on there for a couple of months.
I think it's pretty cool. Would put it on my own tractor but have an original one and don't want to change it.

Haven't seen that one...is that the guy who posts quite a bit of tractor stuff? I know there's 2 guys down that way. 1 I won't buy from cause he buys stuff at auction then lists it on cl the new few days after and Jack's the price up quite a bit.

I don't know who it is. NY Mills is a hike from here so I don't know anyone up there.
Even if he did mark it up it's still not out of line for a pretty neat bumper.
You see a lot of the same type of Dearborn style bumpers at shows, etc. I usually walk right past them.
This one I would stop and look at for a bit.

I'll have to see how far away it is from where we're going. I think all the tractors have bumpers but what's another one right!

Not a Ford OEM part according to my source. Ford N Series Originality Guide by Beemer & Peterson.
The OEM bumper had off-sets in the mount, supposedly so the second cross bar from bottom would allow the starting crank to line up with the hole in grille/radiator. It, like some aftermarket bumpers, was riveted together, while some were welded.

I have only seen what I thought were 2 originals last year. But both looked like they met up with a tree and were all twisted up.
Fella wanted $125 each. I passed.

Ouch...who was it on here had done a
pretty nice job fixing one I remember
seeing pics at one point in time

Im with Dean on ORG cause I am sure he knows. I would lean towards ORG on my own because of the Rivets. If the Bucktails are uniform and heads are the same that would say factory to me over a weld. Welded ones show up a lot but rivets say Henry Ford to me and I have alway wondered why Ford put rivets in the fenders. I hope it is ORG.

The dealer supplied option bumper for the 8N was sold thru the Dearborn Corporation, Fords distribution company and NO N-Series Tractor ever left the assembly line with a bumper -always sold as an accessory. One sure-fire identifier are the two lower mounting beams. They should have an 'S'-curve to them, not straight flat bar steel. I can't tell if yours ahs the S-curves or not, but the rivets are the second give-away. All aftermarket bumpers are welded assemblies. For the record, the "Originality Guide" by Beemer & Peterson is hardly that. It is chock full of several errors and lacks most important information regarding the N-Series tractors. They did not do their homework when they wrote that book. It has some good pictures, but do not use it as a bible for originality. Sorry, my opinion and I'm a realist telling it like I see it.

OK, missed it the first time, but YES it is original -see post below about having the "S"-curve mounting bars...
