I wanted to post this earlier this fall but time gets away fast. There is no shortage of ?s on making a winter start-up on a N left to the elements. I dont know if it is really the best block heater but next to a heated garage it is a good setup. It with a cover to keep the wind out and heat in its a keeper. I bought this many years ago with a loader on it so photos are limited to the layout. This is a Kats type heater with vertical and straight nipples. They are attached to nipples with heater hose and clamps. One nipple is tapped into the head the other into the block drain.

I've had good luck the block heater on my NAA. Got this heater about 6 years ago at Farm and Fleet. Heats the engine up to 160 within 30 minutes on a 20 degree morning.

I have seen some 8n's that had a pipe in the upper radiator hose with a 5/8 hose nipple in it for a tank heater. On the oppsite side of the pipe is a fitting for a temperature gauge.

Those are excellent I have them on 3 trucks. I
was told they wont work on the L head Ns the
water jacket is not wide enough to accept the
heating element. If anybody knows different I
hope they pipe in.

(quoted from post at 08:09:59 12/15/14) thats a nice set up kris. do you just remove the frezze plug or what?

It is where the freeze plug goes, there was a heater in there when I got the tractor but it had a shorted heating element.
