8N Fuel Tank Removal

I finally removed the fuel tank from the 8N hood while I waited for parts for the steering box. The Question: The braces holding the tank were spot welded to the sides of the hood. The hood was bolted to the braces and came loose easy but it proved almost impossible to pull the hood from between the braces because when tipped to remove it was too big for the opening. Looked to me that at least the back brace was originally made to be bolted to the hood side rails - how do I put the tank back to be correct?? Even the parts manual was vague on this point. Steering box is coming along great thanks for the help.

I've done several. It can be a tight squeeze. If the braces are tight to the hood and you got it out, I would put back in the same way.

The braces are tack welded, not bolted. The trick to getting the tank in & out is holding your mouth just right...... ;)

It will go back. Just take your time as Harold said.

Don't forget to clean the vent & make new bumpers while you have it off.

That's what I needed to hear. They are supposed to be tack welded. Can take it from here thank you plus the helpful hint on the bumpers. There were non when I removed the tank so I would not have thought to put new ones in.
