Seems Mitch has a 9n demonstrator for sale on this site. I emailed
him asking what he means by Demonstrator. Maybe some one here
knows? Or maybe he'll chime in here

"Mitch Located in: st.louis, MO, USA *
For Sale: I think what i have is a 9n demonstrator and would like to
sell it."

I thought the demonstrator was the gold tractor that ford dealers got to promote the new tractor models. I also thought those did not start until the select-o-speed trans was introduced?

You are correct about the Gold Demonstrators. They were sent to dealers when the SOS came out.
As I understand it ALL dealers were required to take at least of of them or there were repurcussions.
As for a 9N demo, who knows what the seller has.
It's well documented here that a lot of owners have no idea what they own. Just look at the 1958 Jubilees, 1952 9Ns, etc, etc.
There was a seller here on Minnepolis Craigslist that had a 2N that he was trying to sell as a rare Orchard 9N. It was a nice tractor - new rubber, nice paint (all gray) but the "orchard" part of it was simply a bracket that someone had bolted onto the hood that would keep branches out of the operators face. Fenders, etc were normal.
I emailed him about it but he insisted he had a rare model.
Price was about $5 grand.

Most likely another guy who has something he has no clue about. It maybe one of the early 9N with the starter button on the dash that Henry did not like. Would love to find out where he gets the idea of what he says it is

If it walks like a duck, Quacks like a duck and smells like a duck than maybe you own the duck that hatched from a golden egg.

I guess we all like to think so even though all we own are chickens.

Well, He never replied to my email. I figured that since he was advertising on this site he would be better informed than what you find on CLs. Guess not.

A 9n demonstrator has 3 inch yellow lettering on each side of the hood ?FORD TRACTOR FERGUSON SYSTEM ?. Approximately the whole length of the hood. Tracked down the information years ago. Saw the lettering on a tractor and wanted to find out what it meant. Only other one I have seen was a picture on the internet. Probably most have been painted over by now.

Daniel, being a new user you can't post pics until you have posted a few times. But if you drop down to site comments and ask the moderator they will let you post a pic of that 9N demonstrator. Of course you have one!! Right??
