Dirty Gas Tank

I have an 8N with a front loader on it, so I need to know the best way to clean out the gas tank without taking the hood off. There is a lot of debris in the sediment bowl, and it returns quickly after cleaning it.

That's not going to happen.

Sorta like cleaning a carb w/o taking it off the tractor.

And worse......

Chances are you're not going to "clean" the tank if it's rusty unless you're using some commercial product. And, as a new tank costs about $150 & the basic kit to clean a tank costs $85 & will keep you busy for a couple of days.....buy a new tank. If you need one.

Regardless of whether you clean it or replace it, you're going to have to remove the hood, drain the tank, disconnect the tank and remove it from the tractor. When I first got my 8N about eight years ago, it came with a tank full of rust fines and dirt. I drained it, removed it, took it to a radiator shop who boiled and steam cleaned it. Cost me about $30. I replaced the all the fuel lines, the shut off valve assembly and all THREE filter in the fuel system, as well as cleaned out the carb. Haven't had an issue since. Of course, I had no rust holes in my tank. If your tank is in otherwise good shape, take it to a radiator shop and get it cleaned out really good. That ought to last you another 30 years or so, IF, you keep your tank full all the time that you're not running the tractor. A full tank means less air in the tank. The air will cool and condense, which means water in the tank and eventually more rust.
