Hyd.lift works but;not well

Why would my 8n just put a strain on an implement, trying to lift, when I raise the position(quadrant) control lever-and lift just fine when I shove down on the little draft control lever next to it. Is this purely worn out linkage? I never been into this tractor so the voice of experience would be most welcome. thnx

Works well in draft control but not position
control indicates worn cam follower pin and need
for adjustment. Zane Sherman's jig (comes with a
new pin) and instructions are very helpful.

Proper adjustment probably will fix most of the
prolems.

Have a gasket set and a new pressure relief valve
to replace while the top is off. Lots easier then.
Be a good time to replace the old steel ring
piston with the NAA series piston with rubber
ring.
Much better results. Just hone the scratches in
the cylinder a bit to smooth the edges. Don't
replace the cylinder with aftermarket ones.

thanks folks-appreciate the advice, Time to look inside the top cover. Engine is running well after changing the fibre cam gear to aluminum. the metal hub spun loose inside the gear itself. Yep, Yesterdaystractors has all the parts AND good sales staff, too.
