the bat and the arm termials. now since it is out

before i go tearing into it out there. thanks

I'll assume it's 6v........

Charge the battery then check it per tip # 49.

While it's charging, clean all the battery connections; see tip # 41.

If you can't get it to charge w/ a good battery, new cables & clean terminals, post back. It might be time to run some tests on the v/r & generator.

" what i was gettin at is not sure where?how to test thes old 6 volt systems "

I must have missed that in your prior post.

Try the flow chart. Post back w/ results or more questions.

so after chargeing the battery. i was going to test it but after to 10 sewcond attempts at cranking the battery was completely dead. the bettery is 6 months old and has all water in it and test fine. maybe starter drawing excessive amps? this makes the testing very hard haveing to recharge evry time you try

" water in it and test fine."

How are you testing it? A voltmeter? Hydrometer? Load tester?

" maybe starter drawing excessive amps? "

Possible, but that would be the last thing I'd check.

Battery, cables & grounds need to be ruled out first.

See tips 41 & 49 at the link.
