Thanks to all on this thanksgiving night. This past year you all
have walked me through changing all fluids , replacing gasket
on cylinder head , replacing exhaust manifold ,splitting tractor
and replacing ring gear , replacing all wires and installing new
ignition, and learning a heck of a lot. When I picked up the 8n I
had never even started or driven a tractor. I had the guy I
bought it from drive it up on the trailer because I didn't know
how to do even that. Now it starts right up and I can drive it
around in all gears with no problem . Not bad for a guy that
never even changed his own oil in his truck! Thanks to all
again for guidance and patience . Stuart Patersn

You just proved what I tell my grandkids. You are never to old to learn. Fear of the unknown too often stops us in our tracks. Never be afraid to ask, observe and do. Sometimes it can be expensive but most of the time I've found it to be fun and less expensive. The key is to be able to determine the best approach. Education may be expensive but screwing up do to ignorance is ...?

Stuart,

You probably know enough not to try changing gears while moving.
What I like to do before going into 3rd or rarely into 4th, on this Jube is to at least be at a crawl or pointing downhill, so as to break it to her gently. :)

You knew enough to ask for help. That's a great start!
And you asked here. The combined knowledge on this board
is phenomenal! I'm glad to hear you got it all working.
Operate it safely! :)
