2015 Firestone Calendar

My 1949 FORD 8N made it into the 2015 Firestone Farm Tire calendar for 2015.

She is "Miss January", still dressed in her "work clothes", and with original FIRESTONE tires all around.

One of my '49's still has original firestones on it. You can put a set of ladder chains on them and don't have to worry about them falling inbetween the lugs.

He is not lying.....his 2n paint job looks "lost in the 60s"....I have seen it....just saying!!...Congtrats on "Miss J"

My '48 8N and Dearborn Plow got selected by Steiner's to be on their 2015 calendar. I got a $25 gift certificate for being one of the selected ones.

How does one get a Firestone calendar?

Kirk,I'm looking at the photo and wondering how it was possible to plow with the axle brackets on the wrong side of the axle and the wrong side of the tractor.Did it come to you that way? With no way to lift the push tube frame how is it drivable? Just curious because I run the same set up and it caught my eye. Happy thanksgiving to all forum members and families! Mike

That's the way I got it. It is a dearborn frame and
he used the arps brackets (reversed) as a guide to
keep the frame from shifting to one side while
pushing snow.. I no longer have the frame but still
have the brackets if someone needs them.

Tim, you likely have to buy some FIRESTONE AG tires, or visit a FIRESTONE AG tire outlet.

They (the calendars) certainly seem to be a "rare bird" up in CANADA anyway, maybe not so much down your way.

It certainly is a keeper for me anyway - I have never set eyes on one of these calendars before last year.

Instructions are in the back of the calendar, for sending in entries for the 2016 calendar; deadline is May 1 2015, I think.

For an entry to be considered, the tractor MUST be wearing FIRESTONE tires, of course.

Mine was the only FORD tractor in the set, and this was the only chosen entry from Canada

Hope you are able to score one for yourself. Thanks for viewing.

I get that he used the brackets as guides but how did he raise the plow with the pulleys not lining up.The cable/pulley bracket has to be right above the cable end mount on the frame. The way it is now it looks as if the plow just rests on the ground all the time. When installed correctly , the brackets still serve as guides to keep the frame from wandering.Maybe I'm missing something or I'm doing it all wrong all this time.lol P.S. Don't throw those brackets away, they're hard to find. Lots of guys left them on the tractors.

I have done a ton of business with my local Firestone AG dealer and know him well, so I'll go visit him and see what he can do. Meanwhile here's a photo of my '48 8N dressed to kill...

Beautiful tractor!
Nicely done.

That one should make the FIRESTONE calendar without a doubt.

Hope you are able to get a 2015 calendar.

He had hooks bolted thru the axle that the dearborn
frame pulley cable hooked on to allow the 3pt to
raise and lower the plow.

Kirk,

Considering that on my tires, soft ground can escape under pressure, through the gaps in the lugs, so . . . wouldn't your contiguous ones (if that's the word) be better for ladder chains (huge bonus) and also for traction?

Or do they load up with mud too easily?

T

That's peculiar but doable I guess.I am considering a ram set up of some sort. The cables often come loose or snap.Usually about 200 feet from the shop.Other than that it's a pretty good snow removal system. The rear blades rough on the back but a lot easier to install and remove.
