Lift plate and hydraulic pump removal

I have a question about my 9n. I'm setting up a 9n for pulling I need to shed 140# from me and my tractor. Can I remove lift plate and bottom pump plate and pump? Does anyone see a problem with this as far as mechanically? I have a fixed hitch so I do not use any hydraulics! Does the pump act as a support for pto shaft? I am a machinist as far as fabrication of plates is not an issue. Thank you in advance..

make a plank off for the pto, make a blank off for the top cover and allow for seat mounting, and make a blank off for the absence of the pump. between pump, top cover and pto shaft you will be close to your dump weight.

Dunno what's allowd or not allowed on your course. but other non essentials would be grill, and you could make up a idler pulley and ditch the genny and go with a hot battery.

if you were shy only a few pounds, drain out a gallon of gear oil.. that's ? 7# and for a short pull and no hyds.. should get away with it.

if you never spread your front axle, could cut down the overlapped wings to minimum.

straight pip and ditch the muffler?

ditch air breather and go to a pleated paper filter cone at the carb..

maybee remove hood, remove gas tank, and install a 1g lawnmower tank.

???

some great ideas! The rules are need mufflers and pto I see them check pto rpm so I need to have working pto. Just not sure if the pump needs to be in to to stabilize pto? I slid my pto in and seems fine. Idk. If I can get all that out yes should be at weight and won't need to chop more.

Everything that soundguy said and if using a stock
gas tank don't put more in fuel than you need to
complete the pull.
Check your club rules. At one of the clubs I pull
at it states PTO SHAFTS AND RELATED COMPONENTS ARE
REQUIRED FOR STOCK CLASS. Although I never was asked
to take the pto cover off to see if there was a
shaft in there, if you know what I mean.

The pto shaft is help in by the pto support so the pump could be taken out.
It might also pay to cut out the cookies and cake over the holiday season

If you are converted to 12v try a small battery like a garden tractor battery.
Replace metal seat with something more light weight.
Remove front bumper if you have.

Thank you graysolf224 hopefully I'm in my weight class from
what I did with lift plate and pump removed.lol but I really
appreciate your input. I've noted all the ideas in case I need to
pull more off becouse of the holidays.. Lol thanks again Corey.

Thank you Kirk a I really appreciate your input a lot of good ideas! If I need to pull more weight off her. Bring on the cookies and cake Lol. hope you have a great holiday! Thanks again Corey..

Something else to consider is if the club you pull
at has a weight allowance. Some will give 50 or
100 lbs over. Best to strip off as much weight as
you can and than redistribute the weight where
needed. I know on my 950 I shaved a couple of
pounds off by switching to 6 loop rims instead of
the power adjuster rims. I'm not sure if the 8n
hat rims are more weight than the 6 loop. I've
never weighed the front 19" compared to the 16"
rim/tires which might be something else to
consider.

If you come up short, You can also run without fenders, probably save about 20/25 pound each.
