I have searched the site for an answer to my question to no avail.
I bought a second 9n that I am rebuilding but the one I use all the time dragging a horse arena twice a week I ran into a post with the right front tire and knocked the steering back a couple of spline it seems.......I read something duey posted regarding loosening the hold down bolts and prying it up a half inch to adjust. Could someone please explain that a little better. I don't think it would be a good idea to run it backwards to knock it back, probably break something. ANYONE?javascript:emoticon('')

If you look at the cutaway picture you will see the two steering gears that move forward and backwards as you turn the steering wheel. you can loosen the bolts on the base of the steering column and lift until you pull the gear out from between them. Then you can move the one that jumped back where it belongs and lower the gear back in. It may take a couple tries to get it right. You will want to have the front end off the ground so you can move the wheels.

So do you mean after loosening the base bolts you pull up the steering wheel to disengage the gear?
